Dear Wiregrass WORKS Operators, Investors, School Leaders, and Volunteers:

Southeast AlabamaWorks would like to thank you for all of your help and investment in the lives of our regional 8th-grade students to help them ignite their future!  The opportunity you provided them to engage in a hands-on experience is one they will never forget, and their testimonies prove that.

“I had so much fun this year, and I hope that next year’s group find it as entertaining and educational as I did!!! I really enjoyed the fact that you gave us some freedom to roam and see what we wanted to see instead of staying in groups and how these careers are presented was very interesting!”

Southeast AlabamaWorks is thrilled to announce an exciting change this year! We are formally changing the name of Wiregrass WORKS to Southeast Worlds of Work, or Southeast WOW!

The reasons for this change are many. First, our workforce development region has changed geographically since our past event planning stages. We want to be sure to unite all 10 counties in our region of Alabama and three counties each in Florida and Georgia in this experience since we now expand beyond the “Wiregrass” area. Second, we are teaming up with three other workforce regions around the state to promote the Worlds of Work program. This will allow people all over the state to be able to associate the program Worlds of Work with the powerful movement we are creating in this hands-on career experience. We hope students all over the state will one day look back at their WOW experience and know it changed their lives.

We assure you that the passion, effort, and energy of the team putting the event together is stronger than ever. In order to utilize this change to benefit everyone involved, it is important for us to communicate this name change to you, our partners.

We are excited about having you invest, promote, and attend this event on behalf of your company or school. As we continue to work hard to develop pipelines to all of our high-demand industries and careers, we understand the importance of the partnership with our stakeholders.

As we make this transition, we invite you to continue on this journey with us toward enhancing and enriching the lives of all these students. We hope to spark their enthusiasm for a career that they will enjoy for the rest of their lives.  We appreciate all of your help, support, and encouragement! Be on the lookout for more information about the 2018 event in the near future.

Companies, be on the lookout for our Investor and World Operators Information Guides very soon. Schools, we will be contacting you about how to register in the coming days.
