The Dothan City Schools system will soon pilot a dual enrollment welding program at Dothan Technology Center. Students got a look at some of the skills the program will teach when Wallace Community College’s mobile welding lab visited campuses this week.

The dual enrollment program will be taught at Dothan Technology Center. The pilot program will offer two welding courses which students can take for high school and college credit. Thanks to a state grant, the programs will be offered free of charge to students.

Completing the two dual enrollment classes will put students about halfway toward completing a short certificate in welding from Wallace, and about a quarter of the way to completing the long certificate program.
